Joe Mernyk

Research Coordinator, Polarization and Social Change Lab

Joe graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Pittsburgh in 2019, earning a B.S. with honors in Psychology and a related area in Computer Science. He is interested in increasing political awareness and studying the root causes of recent political unrest and instability. Joe also enjoys using the internet and other emergent technologies to drive research and provide technological solutions to traditional research questions. He hopes to earn his PhD in political or social psychology following his time with PASCL to continue researching ways to make the world a more just place. In his free time, Joe loves to spend time in nature, catch the occasional concert, and travel to new places as often as possible.
